The Dragon Mail has the same statistics as the Diamond Armor, and even has the same resistance to Lightning, but it also resists Fire and Ice. With this armor, your Knight will be well-protected from the majority of damaging special attacks in the game. It will serve him well through the end of the game.

The Dragon Armor is good heavy armor, but its real advantage is the four Elemental resistances it provides. While they aren't the best available resistances, combined with the Aegis Shield, you can resist every element in the game. The Genji Armor has far higher defense, but also far higher weight. If you intend to have one evasion fighter and one defense fighter at the end of the game, the Dragon Armor/Aegis Shield combination is a good starting point for the former.
